The Transitional Stewards Team
To grow the bones of the foundation.
Who We Are
SPIRIT is guided by Transitional Stewards — an activating and scaffolding team whose aim is to cultivate a commons that eventually governs itself. Our explicit goal is to build something that no longer needs us in our current roles, so that we, too, can join the Commons as regular members, with no more authority than anyone else.
We are building toward a board of highly-regarded community leaders, particularly elders and Indigenous relatives. For now, we show up with full commitment and open hands, oriented towards that ultimate transition.
We are a small team at the beginning of something, and we do not have all the answers. What we have is our commitment to this place and to each other, and a willingness to learn in public.

As a founding member of the Commons, your contribution supports community-led grant-making rounds, shared governance infrastructure, and the ongoing work of bioregional coordination.
WHY WE AREOur Mission
SPIRIT exists to empower, weave, and coordinate a distributed movement of local leaders engaged in economic re-localization, indigenous revitalization, neighborhood resilience, and bioregional regeneration. By lifting up and connecting existing regenerative initiatives, projects, organizations, and communities, SPIRIT serves as connective tissue for the bioregional movement on the Front Range.
We work for the Front Range Commons by building shared infrastructure, creating community-led grant-making rounds, and making regular rhythms of convening to nourish and connect the tenders of this place. Eventually, the Board of SPIRIT, we pray, will be comprised of indigenous leaders, elders, and devoted civic stewards who represent the demography of this bioregion.
